Rebuilding Together

The Nation of Men regularly collaborates with Rebuilding Together, an organization that helps low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly and disabled and families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence. NoM has been involved with various Rebuilding Together projects in the Bay Area, from fundraising and project leadership through hands-on work on Rebuilding Days.

The April 2003 Rebuilding Together project he project honored the memory of Mel Despain, a NoM member who was deeply committed to the Rebuilding Together organization but passed away before he could see that year's projects completed. Working with his family, we carried on for him and with him, as he was there in spirit. NoM continues its involvement with Rebuiding Together, sponsoring a Silicon Valley RT project in May 2004 and also helping with the 2004 Peninsula Rebuilding project. Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley now supports two major projects per year. The fall 2004 Rebuilding Day is Saturday October 23.
